The Weekend
Not a real eventful weekend, but peaceful and enjoyable. Potty training continues. Sleeping in "new rooms" continues. Alexandra learned to bowl on the WII video game and actually bowled 123! She thought playing was big fun! Jode And I went through the toys in the play room and did some weeding out. We had small group Friday night and that was enjoyable as always. We are still studying Ecclesiastes and it continues to be a great study! Victoria went to bed like a little lamb Saturday night and woke up a bear on Sunday morning. Apparently she is cutting more bottom teeth ands they hurt!! She is not happy about it! Both girls finally finished their a antibiotics and I am glad to be done with that! Alexandra wants her own golf clubs so she can play "golf ball", as she calls it! Jode looked for clubs at Golfsmith on Saturday, but they were sold out of right handed, pink clubs. I am at the doctor for a checkup and blogging as I sit in the waiting room. Anxious to hear Francesca's heartbeat. I think she had hiccups earlier. It is the first time I have felt them with this pregnancy. I am speculating that Dr. Reed got called torus hospital for a delivery because ladies keep checking in, but no one is getting called back! Also, I heard Sandra over the intercom page dr. Reed 604. I think that might be the code for get to the hospital ASAP! I hope I don't have to wait much longer!

Oh what a feeling!
What feeling is that you say?
The feeling of being rested and refreshed! Last night was the first night of solid, uninterrupted sleep I have had since Jode and I were on our ski trip at New Year's. It is amazing what you feel like when you don't wake up every hour or two hours tending to a child! Victoria has officially moved out of our room and Alexandra too! Although, Alexandra didn't have a bed in our room, both girls have been sleeping in our room lately because they have been sick.
Now this is a feeling I could get accustom to! Happy Mommy!! (:
And the bonus is that both girls are still sleeping and I am able to drink a cup of coffee and read my email like the rest of the grown ups in the world!!

BIG Changes
Today marks a day of BIG changes at the Shupe house. Alexandra is moving to her "big girl room" and Victoria is moving into Alexandra's "old room". I still need to move Alexandra's clothes and things and do a little decorating in her "new room", but both girls napped happily this afternoon in their new quarters!
This evening we all went and "played" in Alexandra's new room. Victoria was facinated with the full length mirror and kept talking to the baby in the mirror! Alexandra was flitting everywhere and thanking us for coming to her room! When Jode and I got ready leave, Alexandra said she wanted to stay and play in her new room; however, she wasn't very far behind us when we left, but the cutest thing was that she moved a small chair over to her light switch to turn her light off before she left her new room!
And we are celebrating another big milestone, Alexandra's renewed interest in potty training!! Yesterday was the first time in a while that she has shown any interest in potty training and was the most successful day we have ever had!! Yea Alexandra! Only a few more stickers to earn and we are going to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate!!
BIG changes! What a day!!
PS: Happy Birthday Katherine! We love you!

Yuck!
Both girls woke up with snotty noses and watery eyes today! Seems like allergies, but the pollen count is suppose to be fairly low...and they are still on antibiotics from last week so I guess we are covered. Maybe a little antihistamine or allergen blocker will clear it up!

Great Party!
Today we celebrated "PaPa's" 80th birthday today! His actual birthday is not until June 14th so this was a little early, but when you make it to 80 and are as healthy and active as he is....what's a few days here or there!!
So many people came to honor him and he seemed to be on cloud nine all afternoon and evening!
I wish I had more opportunity to visit, but Jode and I spent most of the party corralling the girls. The party was at The French Quarter on Lake Conroe's Clubhouse which is an upstairs facility next to a swimming pool. So we were either trying to keep the girls upstairs and off the staircase or we were downstairs trying to keep them out of the pool! Now that Victoria is mobile...we have double the trouble!!
Alexandra loves parties and was most excited about her dance and PaPa's cake!
Happy Birthday PaPa!

What a week!
Alexandra laid down on the living room floor with her "blankie & winkie" and fell asleep at noon on Tuesday. This HIGHLY unusual behavior for her. So I felt her forehead and sure enough, she was running fever! Tuesday night she threw up in our bed twice and ran a fairly high fever all night. Wednesday was much better and she insisted she was "well", but that was only because she wanted to go outside for a walk! I think we watched the same movie at least 4 times that day in addition to two others, just to keep her occupied!! Thursday her fever was better, but her throat was hurting and then Victoria starts running fever that afternoon. They went down the tubes fast and we ended up at an urgent care clinic sometime around 6PM. Both girls were diagnosed with Strep throat! So for the first time ever, they are both officially sick and on antibiotics. Thankfully they both seem to like their Amoxicillin! Thursday night was grueling for Victoria. Poor baby felt so bad and just didn't understand why. She woke up every hour on the hour and cried for about 10 minutes then went back to sleep. Friday consisted of a lot of holding and rocking, but thankfully Alexandra seems to be on the mend! She says she is "better" and says she is "happy"; however, if I mention that she needs to be gentle or quite because Victoria is sick, she will remind me that she is sick too! It has been a learning experience having two sick babies, but I guess it will always be like this since they are so close in age. The doctor said it was almost impossible for one to be sick without the other one getting it!!

Victoria Walks!
Where does time go?? It seems like she was just born and today she started walking! She has acted like she was going to walk for the past six weeks or longer, but today it all came together for her. She seems very pleased with her toddling self. I think she looks kinda like a penguin or a duck. She definitely has her own little proud waddle. Yea Victoria! Momma loves!
